About Us
Melissa loves people. She enjoys meeting new people and keeping up with her friends all over the country. As a physical therapist for the past 7 years, Melissa is passionate for how people are cared for and enjoys educating people about the miracle that is the human body. She spends time doing yard work, hiking with friends, mountain biking, learning new skills, caring for plants and skiing with Clay. Melissa loves to laugh and find God in all things. Melissa has a deep desire to care for children and extend the love that Jesus has shown her to them.
Clay is fiercely loyal and a hard worker. He works as a wireless design engineer and is fortunate to work from home. He enjoys electronics, reading, working on automotive projects and biking with Melissa. Clay has always desired to adopt and sees it as an opportunity to live out his faith. He believes it would be a great privilege to become a father by adoption and have the opportunity to raise a child.
We were both born in Illinois and raised in the Chicago suburb of Elgin. We attended the same school together kindergarten thru high school. We always knew of each other but were not friends until later in high school. We share an interest in snowboarding and skiing which is what ultimately brought us together on a senior ski trip. After that trip we attended our senior prom together and decided to give dating a chance even though we had plans of attending colleges 9 hours apart. We continued to date long distance all throughout college years which we attribute to building our depth in friendship. After Melissa graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2014, we were married a month later.
We are best friends who thoroughly enjoy life together. We are so grateful God brought us together at a young age as we have enjoyed our 14 years as a couple and 7 years of marriage. Our years have been filled with adventures, challenges, joys and leaps of faith. We are ready to share our lives with children and look forward to parenting together. Kathy and Dave have been married for 38 years. Melissa has one older brother Matt who is married to Caitlin; they have a son Logan who is 4 and excited for more cousins. Together with Melissa’s family we spend time in Florida fishing, adventuring and taking in great sunsets

Clay has one younger brother Clint. His parents Cindy and Joe have been married for almost 40 years. As a family we enjoy parks and exploring new hiking trails.
Mia is our 6 year old bengal cat. She has an above average level of energy and personality for a cat. She is also sweet and gentle with children. Mia could really use someone new around the house to keep her entertained.
